CLONED MEAT
This week, we shared a video about how meat could soon be sold in Canada — and it’s raising some important questions. While it’s not entirely clear if cloned meat is already on store shelves, Health Canada has recently taken steps to lift restrictions on meat from cloned cattle and pigs. This means it’s no longer classified as a “novel food,” and products made this way may be sold without any special labelling.
At a time when beef prices continue to rise due to changes in supply and demand, this shift could have a real impact on both the market and consumer confidence.
That’s why supporting trusted local farms has never been more important. Over the past 10 years, I’ve built strong relationships with farmers and suppliers like John from Fenwood, Matt — co-owner of Steelhead Foods — and many others who are committed to transparency, quality and a great price so we can pass it on to you. When you buy from us, you know exactly where your food comes from.
