Frequently Asked Questions

What’s a bulk meat delivery program?

Instead of purchasing your meat through a subscription box or a grocery store, we can deliver months worth of meat right to your freezer. With A Cut Above Meats’ meat delivery program, you choose your meat preferences (type, size, and special cuts) and get only the highest quality meats which are all vacuum sealed.

Why buy our products?

By purchasing our meat you’re able to invest in your diet by getting a selecting of organic, free-range, and grass-finished meat while also investing in local Ontario farmers. Read more about Our Farmers here.

How do we set our prices?

Each custom order is completely unique from one customer to the next. Depending on your family size and the types of meat you consume each week, prices start as low as $62.50 (for 2 adult portions) per week. Our average price per pound depends on volume. The more you buy the better price you will receive.

Where are the farms and suppliers?

Our animals are raised in the North Middlesex, Norfolk, and Durham regions of Ontario. They are free-range during the summer, and their diet is supplemented with grain and hay in winter. With our 100% grass-fed line, our cattle never eat grain in their entire lives. See Our Farmers to learn more.

What is the difference between our chicken and antibiotic-free chicken in the stores?

Our organic birds are given non-GMO grains and are certified by a third party to ensure no chemicals are in the soil. This also includes our RWA line in the program. Antibiotic-free chicken from feed lots are given regular grain due to cost and are weaned off antibiotics before being processed. So technically all chicken in stores are antibiotic-free.

What does raised without antibiotics (RWA) mean?

According to the Canada Food Inspection Agency, RWA means the animal is not treated with antibiotics administered by any method, from birth to harvest.

What’s the difference between “grass fed” and “grass finished” beef?

“Grass finished” beef comes from cattle that ate grass for their entire lives. “Grass fed” can be used to describe meat from cattle that started eating grass but either received supplemental grain feed or are finished on a grain or corn-based diet. Read more about grass fed and grass finished beef here.

Where can you store your meat?

Through our partnership with The Brick, we offer new energy efficient freezers at our cost. Otherwise, your order can be customized to fit any size freezer you already have at home.

If you’re in a different bulk program, we GUARANTEE a better price.
